The London Facial Dissection Course is a cadaveric dissection course aimed at helping surgeons understand key aspects of facial anatomy to be able to incorporate the latest advances in facial aesthetic surgery into their practice. The course is ideal for consultant surgeons with an interest in facial aesthetic surgery aiming to improve confidence and understanding of contemporary techniques as well as senior trainees on the cusp of setting out in independent practice.
The course is a cadaveric-based program run over two days at King’s College Anatomy lab, a teaching Hospital in a historic and iconic area of London being adjacent to Guy’s Hospital, The Shard and London Bridge. The course will cover all important techniques in facial aesthetic surgery in a highly structured and hands-on manner. There will be just two participants per cadaver head with a faculty of highly experienced surgical tutors making for an enjoyable and intense learning experience.
The primary focus will be on sub SMAS facelift techniques, teaching attendees to expose and define the SMAS layer and then dissect safely within the sub-SMAS plane. Participants will also learn to dissect and reduce deep neck structures including the submandibular glands, digastric muscles and sub-platysmal fat. The course will however comprehensively cover all major facial aesthetic procedures with sessions on browlift, lip lift and upper and lower eyelid surgery. This course is surgery focused, teaching relevant anatomy to apply modern surgical techniques effectively and safely.
